How To Get Lucky By Lauren Blakely & Joe Arden Ebook Download
About How To Get Lucky
A sexy standalone romance written by #1 NYT Bestselling Author Lauren Blakely and Award-Winning Romance Narrator Joe Arden!
Every man knows there are lines you don't cross. Like this one -- don't bang your boss's little sister.
Too bad I didn't know sexy, clever, irresistible London is related to the guy who signs my paychecks. Would have been helpful to have that intel before I took her out on that first date, before I kissed her on the beach, before I made plans to take her home that night.
But now I know and I'm going to be so damn disciplined. I'm a good guy, after all. And good guys don't break the golden rules of the bro code. I'm going to follow the f&*k out of all the rules. I won't break a single damn one.
Even when London asks me to help her with a work project. One that has us working late every night, all alone, in her tiny apartment.
One that tests every ounce of willpower I have.
One that is driving me out of my ever loving mind.
But I resist.
Until the night she issues a challenge I can't refuse.
If I could get my money back on this book that would be a wonderful thing. I have NEVER been so disappointed in a Lauren Blakely book. I almost stopped reading at about 200 pages but suffered thru to 275. I couldn’t force myself to go farther. I’ve blown more money on other things before but not often. So sad 😢😢😢😢😢
Teddy has been burned by love in the past. So he has put finding someone on hold. Until he sees a spunky brunette in the bar where he is working. He can’t get her out of his head. But luck is on his side when he runs into her at the dog park. As he gets to know London, he soon learns that she wasn’t only off limits because she was a customer in the bar, but she’s also his boss’s little sister. Now they’ve been placed to work together and must keep everything professional. But the chemistry is so off the charts and they keep crossing the line. Can Teddy continue to be the good guy and keep London?
I enjoyed this. Dr. Insomnia is a truly good guy looking for love, and satisfying sexy times, after having to start his career over when his ex’s dad fires him. She cheated on him but dad was his boss. So, NO MORE mixing romance with work. Too bad he doesn’t know that the hot woman he sparks with in a chance encounter is his boss’ little sister!
4.5 stars! I am an absolute sucker for a cute, flirty Lauren Blakely all-male POV rom-com and How to Get Lucky was exactly that. I looved this book. The witty banter, the amazing chemistry between Teddy and London, the forbidden elements and the LA Dodgers love, I was enchanted by all of it. This collaboration between Lauren Blakely and Joe Arden just hit all the right marks. Lauren Blakely always writes incredible heroes but there was just something about Teddy that felt more real. I'm not sure if the benefit of a male co-writer contributed to that but it definitely did not hurt. If you want an addicting romantic comedy that will make you chuckle and swoon, look no further than How to Get Lucky. I hope there are more Lauren Blakely and Joe Arden books to come.
This is a sweet, sexy romantic comedy. Teddy and London have sizzling chemistry and banter than will make you laugh and swoon. Definitely worth the read/listen. Loved the narration.
Teddy Lockhart is DJ Insomnia at an all mens revue called Edge. Teddy notices a woman one night with her friends playing air guitar and again the next day at a dog park. London Hollis and Teddy have incredible chemistry together with a lot in common from Jane Austen to the love of 1990’s. They both have the Best 1st Date Ever together but, then Teddy finds out that London is the sister to his boss. Plus, London will be working at Edge on choreographing a female show for Wednesday nights. There are club rules against dating employees and Teddy’s last relationship and breakup affected his last job and he cannot do that again. As well as Deejaying Teddy now hosts a radio show and is trying to get his own business called “All Night Entertainment” off and running successfully. The two of them want to work on their careers but, cannot stay away from each other since they have more than a connection together. This is such a great read with lots Intense chemistry, fun back and forth banter, the best of friends to help them, 2 incredibly cute loyal dogs, and funny text messages from the “Woman Power Trio”. I received an ARC for this book and this is my review.
Love fun banter and forbidden romance? Love classic book references and music throwbacks galore? Then this book is definitely for you! Teddy and London light up the pages with a fun, flirty and “forbidden” romance that also has sparks flying! I love how the characters background was really explored and how this story has tie backs into the other series that are so fabulous! I tried putting this down because I was so tired after a long “ pandemic” day, but had to finish so I could tell my book club to get this ASAP!!!
It was ok but there were times that I got bored. I wasn’t enthusiastic about any of the characters. It wasn’t a bad story but for me it wasn’t great.
This book was not what I was expecting, but in a good way. I enjoyed the characters, the banter & of course, the dogs!
How to Get Lucky was a terrific read. I have always loved a Lauren Blakely story and this combo with Joe Arden was enjoyable. This story was fun, sweet, and flirty. Teddy and London were so adorable and I liked whenever they were together. Their banters and interactions were just on point. They were made for one another. Their strong connection was off the charts and I was fascinated with how it would all play out. They deserve a happy ending. I also liked the bonds with London and her friends and Teddy and his. It just shows the value of a good friendship. Overall, this book had the right amount of everything. Truly enjoyed it. Nice guys do finish first!
I was very excited to read a book penned by one of my favorite authors and audio narrators, and their first joint writing collaboration was a hit! It had all of the witty and flirty banter you come to except from Lauren Blakely with the added sexy and sultry undertones from Joe Arden. This book is told from the heroes point of view with passages led by the heroine as she texts her girlfriends. In How to Get Lucky, we meet good-guy Teddy, who is a DJ trying to make it on his own. He has a regular gig at a radio station and also at a nightclub featuring a very popular male review (think Magic Mike). Our sweet heroine, London, is a professional dancer now choreographer charged with composing a new number featuring women dancers in her brother’s club. Yup, you’ve read that right, she’s the little sister of the boss who is off limits to Teddy, as he’s been burnt by this type of forbidden relationship before. I love how they meet by chance at a park, instantly connect, and have so much in common such as their love of dogs and the entertainment industry. Teddy truly is in awe of her beauty, talent, and honesty, and her work ethic which mirrors his own. The best romantic relationships are built on friendship and mutual respect, and I loved all their chats and how they got to know one another. London asks him to help her select the music to match her choreography, and while they try their best to keep it a professional relationship, you can only guess what happens next. These two worked so wonderfully together as a team, and I really enjoyed learning the behind the scenes process of producing this type of a performance. Teddy and London had undeniable chemistry and so much spark! I loved how they shared their feelings and were willing to do what it takes to make both their romantic and professional relationship work. I loved how he was man enough to talk to her brother like a mature adult, and all of the supporting characters who were featured in this book. If you are looking for a quick, light-hearted, feel-good, low-angst rom-com, then read How to Get Lucky!
Anybody who believes nice guys finish last, or that they can’t also be crazy hot sexy needs to read this book! Nice guy Teddy and super sweet London will win your heart. When they meet sparks fly, but reality sets in when Teddy finds out London is his boss’s sister & has just started a contract job where he works at Edge Night Club - a business that also has rules about employees dating. Work rules, bro-code....what’s a good guy to do?? Find out & fall in love, too!
How to Get Lucky is a wonderful forbidden romance co-written by Lauren Blakely and Joe Arden. I was so excited when I found out that these two were collaborating and bringing us this insanely witty, fun, romantic and sexy forbidden romance. I’m pretty sure I had a smile on my face the majority of the book. Our leading man, Teddy, is a sexy, swoon worthy, good guy! Yes, I said good guy. He’s the total package. London, our leading lady, is smart, sexy (she fits the sexy librarian vibe perfectly), driven and funny. These two meet at Edge, a trendy night club, which hosts an all male review on the weekend. Teddy is the DJ, DJ Insomnia, for the show. When he looks up and sees her at the bar in her cute red glasses, he is a goner. I’m not going to tell you much more, but just know these two have so much in common that it’s a good, but in one way, bad. This is where the forbidden part comes in. I almost forgot mention the supporting characters, both dogs and humans, will keep you entertained as well!
Five fantastic fun flirty stars!! Congratulations to the incredible talented Joe Arden on making the leap from narrator to author!! You could not have chosen a better collaborative partner than Lauren Blakely. Just please don’t stop narrating them too, that would just be a travesty!! This book “had me at hello” and I never wanted it to end. It is sweet, sexy, fun, light hearted and just a wonderful story about two amazing characters, Teddy and London. They have an instant connection and a chemistry they find is too big to ignore. They are both instantly likable, then lovable and you can’t help but just love them together and hope they find their way to a HEA. Along the way there are great dates, fabulous flirting, witty banter, fun doggy times, awesome music, and hot sexy times; I mean what more can you ask for? I truly loved everything about this story! Treat your ears with this one because while it is a fantastic read, it is even better with Joe narrating the audiobook!! I hope this is the first of many co-written books for them!!
This book was fantastic. If I didn’t know that this was a book co-written by a first time author, I would have never been able to tell. This was truly a great romance put together perfectly. Teddy and London were just the cutest and most fun couple I’ve read in a long time. There was the perfect amount of fun flirty banter mixed with the growing emotions of a new relationship. Both of these characters wanted to do what was right but ultimately the heart will lead you down the path you are destined for. Loved the little glimpses of London’s friends during their text exchanges. I have loved Joe Arden the narrator for a while now. He’s one of my all time favorites. I can say now that he will be one of my favorite authors as well. He and Lauren couldn’t have written a better book, it’s that great. I truly hope he continues to write books, whether that’s with other authors or eventually solo. He will be a one-click for me from now on. Congratulations Joe on your first (of many I hope) books.
