A Promised Land By Barack Obama Ebook Download

About A Promised Land

A riveting, deeply personal account of history in the making—from the president who inspired us to believe in the power of democracy

NAMED ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR BY The Washington Post • Jennifer Szalai, The New York Times • NPR • The GuardianMarie Claire

In the stirring, highly anticipated first volume of his presidential memoirs, Barack Obama tells the story of his improbable odyssey from young man searching for his identity to leader of the free world, describing in strikingly personal detail both his political education and the landmark moments of the first term of his historic presidency—a time of dramatic transformation and turmoil.

Obama takes readers on a compelling journey from his earliest political aspirations to the pivotal Iowa caucus victory that demonstrated the power of grassroots activism to the watershed night of November 4, 2008, when he was elected 44th president of the United States, becoming the first African American to hold the nation’s highest office.

Reflecting on the presidency, he offers a unique and thoughtful exploration of both the awesome reach and the limits of presidential power, as well as singular insights into the dynamics of U.S. partisan politics and international diplomacy. Obama brings readers inside the Oval Office and the White House Situation Room, and to Moscow, Cairo, Beijing, and points beyond. We are privy to his thoughts as he assembles his cabinet, wrestles with a global financial crisis, takes the measure of Vladimir Putin, overcomes seemingly insurmountable odds to secure passage of the Affordable Care Act, clashes with generals about U.S. strategy in Afghanistan, tackles Wall Street reform, responds to the devastating Deepwater Horizon blowout, and authorizes Operation Neptune’s Spear, which leads to the death of Osama bin Laden.

A Promised Land is extraordinarily intimate and introspective—the story of one man’s bet with history, the faith of a community organizer tested on the world stage. Obama is candid about the balancing act of running for office as a Black American, bearing the expectations of a generation buoyed by messages of “hope and change,” and meeting the moral challenges of high-stakes decision-making. He is frank about the forces that opposed him at home and abroad, open about how living in the White House affected his wife and daughters, and unafraid to reveal self-doubt and disappointment. Yet he never wavers from his belief that inside the great, ongoing American experiment, progress is always possible.

This beautifully written and powerful book captures Barack Obama’s conviction that democracy is not a gift from on high but something founded on empathy and common understanding and built together, day by day.

Well, hello again friend, I’m a skeleton returning from the dead, determined to be relevant again and a following trends to the Nether to the End, and, I’ve, got a bone to pick with you little human a bone to pick with you little human being, I’ve seen ,where you’ve been and I don’t like it!!! I’ve got a bow to shoot at you little human, a bow to shoot at you little human being I’ve seen where you’ve been and I don’t like it!!! At all!!!

Here is a man that operated with integrity, dignity and respect for all human kind. This book details the thought process in his decisions and how it would affect all kind. This is why there were no scandals during his presidency. Now for all those that follow, we see a sharp contrast of a person with a moral compass versus one who only look out for his personal gain. No matter the truth!

Great book. A wonderful insight into the working of government. Thanks to President Obama for his great service.

Behind the tough decisions and moral compass that guides one of the best modern president we ever had 😄❤️🇺🇸🌎☀️

I thought the book was amazing even though there was a lot of political issues that Barack had to go through. It’s amazing at how Barack only had 8 years to try and make things better for the American people and he had so much push back and criticism. I’m so glad that Michelle stuck with Barack. I wish both of them the best in all that they do. I miss them both.

His unshakable faith impressed me!

Provides both a captivating view of what it is like to be president and a behind-the-scenes look at the myriad issues of his first two years in office. Well written and very engaging.

It’s honestly lacking in depth and personality. Please rewrite and get back to me.

This is one of the best reads to see inside what a “REAL” President of the United States does. What it means to bring people together and to fight for the American dream. He truly is genuine to the core. I’ve read every book of his so far and everyone just gets better. To those who wrote that he is terrible, I find it un-American to rate this book one star just because you want to say negative things and divide America. Is that what you want for the future? Grow up

Thank you President Obama for this most interesting and historical writing. You are a great human being and the US and the world are fortunate to have seen an example of such a great human being and leader. Wish you and your family the very best in your years ahead. Awesome wonderful book from beginning to end. A must read book.

Obama takes us through his first Term in the White House, beginning with his Senatorial years, with vivid details. Humble and always ready to share his accomplishments with his team, Obama reveals the sensitivity & caring man behind the stoic facade. Must read!

I do not even know where to start with in my review. Barack’s writing guided me through this book like a John Grisham novel. He have me a detailed picture of his thoughts and actions and I felt my self excited to get to the next chapter. I loved how he provided true gratitude to his support family and support staff. This one will go down as one of the most well written Presidential accounts in history...and it is only part one!

I was young during this administration. Now that I have a better understanding of the world. This was an amazing read.

Don’t know what world this guy is describing. He tries to make stuff up to become relevant.

The lowness of the trash troll comments is insane to me. You took time out of your pathetic lives to trash a book you didn’t read just because President Obama was on the cover. You’re the lowest of the low, you’re cowards and you’re the enemy of this state supporting the real trash president who’s a criminal, pardons criminals and is the most un-presidential person in the history of America! Get a life! And if you’re so bold to leave disgusting comments leave your real names. Now back to the book.. the book gave us more insight into what this president dealt with in office and the impact on his life and family! Nothing most of us didn’t know based on the racists on here proving what America really stands for.

Excellent read. Very good account of the history behind the events. Loved the book. Love Obama.

Not worth a penny.

Just not interesting

One of the worst presidents in history who accomplished nothing, definitely worth a read just for type comedy factor.

This book is um I’m trying not to curse here

An eye opening and engaging insight into how hard it was, to become (IMO) the greatest president this country has had the fortune to experience. It explains in detail how government is meant to work, but more importantly how it doesn’t! His struggles from his formative years to lawyer, senator and to president are inspiring at the very minimum. An excellent lesson in humility for us lesser beings!

I like the way Obama fitted all the key details of his presidency. I don’t know why people are say worst book ever... they are probably little kids. But overall great book 100% recommend.

Worst President, and one of the worst people to be born.

Yessir Obama!

Wouldn’t touch this book with a 39 and a half foot pole! Won’t let me submit a no star rating...!

Great book...great President. I have a feeling the bad reviews come from the Trumpsters and they probably haven’t even read the book.

I have a hard time believing people who don’t like Obama listened to 20 hours or read 700 some pages about his presidency. Especially when the review is one sentence about him personally 😂. I’m not finished with the audio book but I’ve enjoyed it so far. Insightful and interesting, it’s not easy being president. At first I was confused as to why it had to be so long, but I appreciate the detail he put into his project.

Worst president ever!

This book is about a human who became President against all odds and without the help of the Communist in Moscow. I can imagine the book “Written by the Orange Man”, probably nothing but a collection of Tweets and misspelled words. Maybe some additions by Jeffrey Epstein and Roger Stone? Maybe a new edition of the Grinch who spoils everyone’s Christmas 2020?

People who are on here trashing the book surely did not read it. Assuming that they really think so many of these things about him why purchase the book? If you’re interested in this book I would suggest that you download the sample.

This book is filled with lies. He divided the US and is now writing books while enriching himself. This country must not be racist after all.

It was an ok book and I didn’t like the guy or the things he said, but for being a book this wasn’t too bad but i didn’t like it personally But for some people this would be a great book and if you love this man and the things he has said I think this would be a good book for you

This guy is so full of himself. He never helped anyone except himself.

Obama is self absorbed, lying pile of dog excrement. Utter garbage.

The current mentally challenged impossinator has so far left 326,000 dead in the US while deciding to golf at Mar-a-Lago and sticking us with the accrued $151 million dollar bill while he has ignored the matters at hand. Obama at least had the courtesy and empathy to bring health care to millions before the current administration’s GOP sheep nuked it so they could afford to bless themselves with a tax break. It’s obvious the brain dead uned ucated trolls who pretend to have read this book are nothing more than the cult of T%#@! wanna be thugs that are equally responsible for attempting to destroy the constitution in order to set up a dictatorship of white only racist morons. Good luck losers!

Excellent accounting by Obama of the challenges and decisions made during his first term as President. Very interesting read.

Amazing President and book is awesome. Ignore the negative reviews they did not read the book. Why would you purchase a book of someone you don't like?

The title alone is a farce. Couldn’t finish it through all of the lies. Check out Dan Bongino’s Follow the Money - that’s a real eye opener.

He is a political opportunist and a cheat and a impostor. Traitor to American people! There are noting but glorified lies in his book!

Amazing stuff! Such an easy listen. 10/10

He wasn’t God. This book is literally Obama beating it to himself. And a bunch of idiots will probably do the same while reading it.

It’s great until you run out of someone else’s money.

I haven’t read the book yet either but my very literate and very intelligent daughter has and says it was excellent. Let me guess...all the negative reviews probably came from Trumpsters?

It’s going to be plenty of people who didn’t want to see him as “President “ talk down on him,his family an of course this book....WHO CARES!....Great Job👍🏽👏🏽

This book gave an in-depth look at Obama, not just the president, but as a son, brother, husband, and father; with all the vulnerability that comes with those titles. Hate him or love him; you get a true understanding of how he revolutionized an American presidency as well as all the labour, blood, sweat, and tears it took to accomplish that. So, to all the negative reviews...you probably didn’t read the book and just want to give it a lousy rating.

I’ve never read a book where a man thought so much of himself. I don’t recommend this book.

Completely corrupt in all aspects of his life. The definition of a sorry human being.

Just not a good read. Very plain and boring.
