Sub·cul·ture (noun) – a cultural group within a larger culture, often having beliefs or interests at variance with those of the larger culture
Trance legend John O’Callaghan has embodied his Subculture moniker, creating a record label, radio show, and events around the world that have cultivated a movement all its own. To celebrate the 100th episode of his radio show, JOC has teamed up with Esscala to bring the party to New York City for a weekend of hard-hitting trance destruction.
The weekend will begin with an intimate pre-party at Cielo featuring Standerwick, The Noble Six, and Mark Sherry. Standerwick is fresh off a mini US tour, supporting Indecent Noise throughout the country and is ramping up for the release of “Dark Matter” on Mental Asylum, out via Beatport on 4/27. Joining him on the first evening will be Canadian producer Andrew Alexandrov, aka The Noble Six, as he makes his New York City debut at Cielo. The Noble Six just teamed up with the Neptune Project for their collaboration, “Time”, pairing classical trance stylings with the ultimate uplifting bassline. To round out the evening, Scottish master Mark Sherry will take to the decks, bringing the first night to a cumulative high. With this night alone epic enough to make the Subculture name proud, trance fans will do it all again on Saturday night for the main event.
Subculture NYC will be led by the heavy-hitting team of Bryan Kearney, John Askew, Sneijder, power-duo PureNRG (Giuseppe Ottaviani and Solarstone), and of course fearless leader John O’Callaghan for an unforgettable event in the heart of Times Square at the Best Buy Theater. JOC has had nothing but success recently, with an Australian tour on the horizon and the recent release of his newest track with Deidre McLaughlin, “Stay With Me”. He returns to Manhattan with Irish lads Bryan Kearney and Sneijder, who recently took the stage at ASOT 700 Buenos Aires and are ready to bring their own bit of ‘kearnage’, if you will, to the city. John Askew, in the midst of his “In a Dark Room” Tour, will keep the mood dark and dirty with his signature energetic sound. Finally, Giuseppe Ottaviani and Solarstone will return to New York as PureNRG, their live on-stage concept that pairs live keyboards with their set to create a one-of-a-kind experience for fans. Their newest release, “Pump up the NRG”, keeps the BPM high and has already seen tons of support from their peers. With such a stacked line-up, Subculture is sure to be one of the top trance events of 2015. Do not miss out on this event!
